this says possible tropical cyc dev in next 36 hrs but it looks well organized to be well sooner than that unlike the crap ive seen out there in the previous weeks
im new to south florida is this how the big boys form? when i was out in california i wasnt monitering tropical depressions/waves.
is this the bowling alley (that my coworkers call it) ramping up?

Yeah, August & September are the worst months for Florida for hurricanes. Last year (which was my first hurricane season down here), they told me that if August doesn't get ya, September will. ;)
I'm watching the cape verde system as well. If it starts developing, I'll start tracking it.

im in homestead/florida city south of you. we're right where the turnpike ends.
that cape verde system looks REALLY organized, im sure in no time its going to be tropical storm irene.
